Reuben Bar-Yadin Breaks Bread with Jewish Student Leaders
At Texas Hillel, we work every day to inspire students to become future Jewish leaders. Our leadership program includes the Jewish Student Leadership Dinner series, where active Jewish community members are invited to meet student leaders and share their experiences. The first dinner this semester was on October 17 and featured guest speaker Reuben Bar Yadin, CEO of United Fashions of Texas.
The evening began with a pre-reception for Camp Young Judea (CYJ) alumni and Mr. Bar-Yadin, a CYJ board member. Following the small reception, students who are active in Texas Hillel leadership roles gathered for dinner and to hear the guest speaker. Leadership Chair, Eileen Wolfowicz, moderated the evening, which included a Q&A opportunity for students. Mr. Bar-Yadin told his powerful story of emigrating from Israel to Cuba to America and building a family business. Throughout the evening, he spoke movingly of his connection to the Jewish community and pursuing his Jewish passion. He told students to find what they are passionate about and get involved. Students took to heart Mr. Bar-Yadin’s message of balancing work, family and faith. The next Jewish Student Leadership Dinner will be in early December.
