Jewish-Latino Student Coalition
The Jewish-Latino Student Coalition, established at UT in 2012, is a group of Latinos, Jews, and Latino-Jews that is committed to partnership and education about the relationship and similarities between the two communities. Recipient of the 2012 UT Latinos Bravo Award for most culturally engaged organization, the group is creating a cultural coalition based around celebrating each other by looking beyond conflict and misconceptions through communication and shared experiences.
The Latino-Jewish Student Coalition puts together several events every semester celebrating and combining traditions, such as multicultural Passover Seder, speakers on subjects such as immigration and culture, Hamantaschen and Empanada baking, and more.
